I don't know the person who post the above message and I'm not promoting them. But, I will tell you my story. I used to install software download from this site and others thinking it was clean. One day I got a message from my server stating I did not have anymore space. That was crazy I thought but I did not know about malware at the time. I increased my space only to learn a few days later I was out of space again. I went back through my records and discovered pretty much what's described above.

I went to cPanel (I owned my cPanel license. Bought before they changed their policy) and hired one of their specialist to find the problem. It cost me about $350 to learn it was several of the wp plugins and other software downloaded from various sites (for free) had been coded to let and invite malware to my server. We abandon our old server and started a new instance with rackspace clould, re-installed cPanel and I only install wordpress applications and software purchased from trusted sources on my server. Every time I install a new WP plugin or any server application, I run a terminal code a few days later and a week later to make sure I don't have malware.

When I do get software from here that I want to try, I install it on GoDaddy servers. For some who don't know, GoDaddy used to give you free hosting accounts for every domain your bought without any adds or stuff like that. GoDaddy ended that service for new purchases after a certain date. People who were with GoDaddy and had free hosting credit were grandfathered in with free, no ads, hosting for life as long as you host the domain with GoDaddy.
